Terms & Services

Please read these terms carefully before using Food Lab Hub. By using our platform, you agree to be bound by the following conditions.

Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, accessing, or using the Food Lab Hub application ("App") or website ("Platform"), you agree to be legally bound by these Terms & Services ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use our Platform. These Terms apply to all users, including Sellers (home cooks) and Buyers (customers). Food Lab Hub reserves the right to update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.

Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years of age to use Food Lab Hub as a Seller. Buyers must be at least 16 years of age. By using the Platform, you represent and warrant that you meet these age requirements. Users must provide accurate, complete, and current information during registration. Food Lab Hub reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that provide false or misleading information.

Seller Obligations

Sellers are responsible for ensuring their kitchen and food preparation complies with all applicable local health, safety, and hygiene regulations. Sellers must complete the council inspection process and submit all required documentation before listing any food items. Sellers agree to prepare food safely, accurately describe their items, and fulfil orders in a timely manner. Food Lab Hub is not responsible for food quality, safety incidents, or regulatory non-compliance by Sellers. Sellers must not list food items that are illegal, unsafe, or falsely described. Food Lab Hub may remove listings and suspend accounts in violation of these obligations.

Buyer Obligations

Buyers are responsible for reviewing food listings, including ingredients and allergen information, before placing an order. Buyers agree to make payments through the Platform's designated payment methods only. Buyers must not misuse ratings, reviews, or dispute mechanisms. Any fraudulent chargebacks or false complaints may result in account suspension. Buyers acknowledge that Food Lab Hub acts as a marketplace and that individual Sellers are responsible for their food products.

Payments & Transactions

All transactions are processed through Food Lab Hub's secure payment gateway. Sellers receive payment for confirmed and completed orders, subject to our payout schedule and applicable service fees. Food Lab Hub reserves the right to withhold payments in cases of suspected fraud, chargebacks, or unresolved disputes. Prices listed on the Platform are set by individual Sellers and may include applicable taxes. Food Lab Hub is not responsible for pricing errors by Sellers.

Prohibited Activities

Users must not engage in any of the following: uploading false, misleading, or harmful content; engaging in harassment, abuse, or threatening behavior toward other users; attempting to bypass or manipulate the Platform's review or rating systems; selling or purchasing illegal substances or items not permitted under applicable law; reproducing, distributing, or exploiting any content on the Platform without prior written consent from Food Lab Hub; or using automated tools, bots, or scraping techniques on the Platform.

Intellectual Property

All content on the Food Lab Hub Platform — including logos, text, graphics, software, and user interface — is the property of Food Lab Hub or its licensors, protected under applicable intellectual property laws. Users may not copy, reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without explicit written permission. By submitting content (such as photos or descriptions) to the Platform, you grant Food Lab Hub a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to use, display, and distribute that content in connection with the Platform's services.

Limitation of Liability

Food Lab Hub operates as a marketplace and is not a food seller or food safety authority. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Food Lab Hub shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from: food quality or safety issues; interactions between Sellers and Buyers; loss of data or profits; or interruption of service. Our total liability in connection with your use of the Platform shall not exceed the total fees paid by you in the three months preceding the claim.

Termination

Food Lab Hub reserves the right to suspend or permanently terminate any account at our sole discretion, with or without notice, for violations of these Terms or for any conduct we deem harmful to the Platform or its users. Upon termination, your right to use the Platform ceases immediately. Provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination — including intellectual property, limitation of liability, and disputes — shall survive.

Governing Law & Disputes

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising out of or relating to these Terms or your use of the Platform shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales. Food Lab Hub encourages users to contact our support team in the first instance to resolve any disputes informally before pursuing formal legal action.
